Lake Nona Youth Sports is proud to bring to our community different sports programs
WRESTLING
Lake Nona Youth Sports offers youth wrestling through AAU USA. Wrestling is the perfect foundation for all other sports. Wrestling is balance, agility, hand –eye coordination, flexibility, positioning, strength, speed, explosiveness, footwork, hustle, mental focus, mental toughness, core strength, concentration, competition, and endurance. Wrestling will make our youth better at all other sports.
2024- 2025 SEASON
We are welcoming youth ages 5 to 18.
Season Dates: November 4, 2024 – March 31, 2025
Pre-season practices are OPTIONAL and will begin September 1, 2024. Pre-season practices will be Wednesdays & Fridays from 5:30pm – 7pm for wrestlers of all ages.
Regular Season Practices Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30pm-7pm for wrestlers of all ages.
Post Season practices will also be available once the season ends, through the ends of 2024-2025 school year.
REGISTRATION FEE: $200.00*
*Registration fee includes 1 tournament fee and your AAU Wrestling registration.
Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate to the first day of practice in order to complete registration.
The registration fee must be paid at time of registration.
PRACTICES
Practice will be a compilation of calisthenics, basic wrestling instruction and drills, with live wrestling.
Practice Days:
Preseason: Wednesday & Friday
Regular Season: Tuesday & Thursday
Practice Times: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Lake Nona High School Wrestling Room
* NO practice Spring Break Week as school will be closed*
(The best way to access wrestling room is from the front parking lot through the main gym doors. We will have someone there to open the door.
What to wear: gym shorts, T-Shirt, wrestling shoes and headgear
What to bring: Water/small towel
